My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope all are enjoying the summer, time with family in the peace and love of Christ Jesus. I have been blessed to be called to the Diaconate and even more to serve this blessed parish. Most of all the call the Lord has put on my heart is for the youth of our community. My life has been blessed beyond words because of my involvement with the boys, girls, and young men and women of our youth groups; most of all Conquest and Challenge.
I was asked over two years ago to celebrate Exposition and Benediction, Adoration for Vocations, and it has inspired me to where I am today as it pertains to our youth. The time spent in Adoration once a month on the last Friday is all about our Lord speaking to our children while they/we adore Him in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar. It is a very beautiful time, and a powerful thing seeing our children there seeking His face and His voice on what course to take in this journey we are all on. My friends, are not our/your children's futures important to you, and is not seeing them embrace this faith we have even more important?
We still celebrate Adoration for Vocations during the summer for as we all know God is not on vacation. I am asking all of you, if possible and you are in town, to seriously consider joining us on the last Friday of July and August for this blessed, solemn time for our children. Yes, this is for our children, the youth of our parish, and our community. I do understand our lives are busy; it is summer, though I know again that our children’s future, the strengthening and living of this faith is very important to you. Come September it will be a part of their last Friday meetings with Conquest and Challenge, and it is my hope also a part of the St. Josephs Youth group.
We live in a time, and a world that it is easy to lose sight, to lose interest in all we are. Our children are the corner stone of my ministry and I will do all I have to so as to be sure they know that all we are and do is right. I do hope and pray that you will consider this small request of you attending this evening of Adoration for our children, and youth of our community. May our Lord continue to bless all of you and may His face shine upon you in all things. God bless.
Your Servant in Christ,
Deacon Chris Supple
