Adjacent to the altar is the baptistery area. Constructed of pre-cast concrete and marble, the baptismal font has steps leading down into a basin from which a perpetual fountain of water flows. The baptismal font is designed for full immersion, as was practiced in the early church, and for baptism by sprinkling.
The decorative ambry designed by Steve Rogero contains the three sacramental oils and is considered one of the most distinctive art pieces in the church. It stands over
five feet tall and is highly ornamental with numerous hand carvings including the endearing use of the cherub-head motif, almost as if they are the quiet overseers of the gentle work in the baptistery.
