Child sexual abuse is a worldwide public health issue. Child abuse, particularly child sexual abuse, is reprehensible – especially when the wrongdoer is affiliated with the church. The VIRTUS program assists the church in being a safe haven for children and a messenger for preventing child sexual abuse within the church and society in general. We, the Diocese of St. Augustine, seek to achieve this lofty goal through our child sexual abuse prevention program –Protecting God’s Children.
If you are a member of the clergy, a diocesan employee (staff and ministries), or a volunteer who has contact with children and youth, you are required to attend one program. Please contact your pastor, principal or director who will put you in touch with a facilitator to assist you with registration.
Access www.virtusonline.org. Your login is the same login you used when you registered online to take your PGC training. If you have forgotten your login or password, select "Need login information?" in the sign-in dialog box.
After login, you should see a screen with your attendance/completion course(s) listed. If you do not see your course(s) listed, be sure that "Diocese of St. Augustine" appears in the dropdown menu on the far right (under your name).
In the course listing select "Print certificate" to produce a copy of your certificate which should appear on your screen. You may then print the certificate on your printer and save it to your hard drive for future use.
You may also select "Contact My Coordinator" at the bottom of the column on the left for assistance.
