The St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery is a private facility located at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The Cemetery was established to serve the families of its Parish Community, living in the surrounding historic villages of Loretto, Greenland and Mandarin, Duval County, Florida.
At the recommendation of the Cemetery Commission, the St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery has adopted the Rules and Regulations of the Diocese of St Augustine, established September 6, 2013. The St. Joseph Parish Cemetery is a private parish cemetery and is not considered a Diocese of St. Augustine cemetery. The Regulation Highlights and the full Rules and Regulations may be viewed on the St. Joseph’s Church website by clicking the appropriate link below.
In order for a parishioner to avail themselves of the benefits of the Cemetery, that parishioner must have been a registered member in good standing of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and active in the parish community for a period of no less than one (1) year. All final decisions regarding interment rest with the Pastor of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and these decisions are final.
The Cemetery Commission generally meets monthly to plan and execute beautification, perpetual care, maintenance, growth and needs. Additionally, the Commission provides recommendations and direction on policy and procedure for the Pastor’s approval. The Commission members have a cadre of experiences and skill sets that they bring to the table, to provide guidance and work products in landscape architecture, engineering, finance, project management, construction, environmental permitting, surveying and mapping, maintenance and administration. The Commission advises the Pastor on all aspects of cemetery management and administration.
